Engineered hardwood flooring is a product made up of a core of plywood or high density fibreboard (HDF) and a top layer of a hardwood veneer that is glued to the top surface of the core. The product is normally pre-finished with several coats of a polyurethane type finish that provides varying degrees of wear protection and sheen level. Some products are sold unfinished and then finished on site after installation.
